God blessed us with a great month in December

God blessed us with 4 baptisms in the month of December including 2 fired up teens. We also had an old lady baptized in her 90s by name Balamma. God once again revealed He works with people of all age groups. We are excited as we step into 2010 to see more of His glory revealed and great things happening in Hyderabad.

Good news - month of November

In India, we celebrate childrens day on 14th Nov. On 15th Nov, the church celebrated childrens day, where we had games for the kids where we meet for the church on sundays. Each age group had 3 simple games and the children had a blast playing these games.
Also Past two weeks Raghu has been teaching us about church history - it has been an interesting two sessions where we have been learning about the early church and its traditional mindset. We were able to watch a movie where Martin Luther stood up to the early Catholic church. Also, we started valuing the Bible more as we saw Tyndale giving himself up just for translating the Bible into English.

Oct Baptisms

God has blessed us with two baptisms in the month of October. The conversion of the brother is totally from God as he walked into to our mtg and was touched by our service and quickly got involved with studying the Bible. In less that 3 wks (19 days to be precise) God brought him to the waters of baptism. His mother had a dream to see him work for God right from his birth and now he can fulfill her dream even though not full-time.

The sister who got baptized is pregnant nine months and did not give any excuse to either study the Bible or to come to the mtgs in the bus at any time. God has blessed her faithfulness and along with the brother was baptized 30th Oct '09. To God be the glory.

Flood Relief Camp in 3 Districts of Andhra Pradesh

Flood Relief Camp Report at Kurnool: On 12th October '09, Monday, a team of 3 HOPE staff Rajesh, Prem and Prema along with 10 volunteers from ICC left to visit Kurnool town. The flood relief camp, which we conducted on 13th October 2009, Tuesday was really inspiring. Initially we went into the village for survey to meet many families to find out their needs by spending some time and know their agony and helped them out with the basic requirements. It was a good thought of distributing them rice, pulses, oil and blankets, as these are the things, which they very much required.

We really appreciate all the HOPE staff and volunteers who gave their time to make this camp successful. We could not have a clear picture of where to go and how to meet affected families, if we would not have had Rambabu (ICC disciple) with us. As it is his native place and he knew the place well, our task became very easy. We know that we couldn't meet all their needs but we felt really happy at least we could make them feel somebody was there for them to help in this time of disaster.

We could able to reach out 100+ families by distributing 10kgs rice, 1kg dal, 1kg oil packet & a blanket. Local newspaper vartha reporter visited the camp and took some pictures and enquired about the camp and a column published in the paper next day. We got all the support for these 3 flood camps from “Indian Friends Working In Afghanistan”, Kabul, Afghanistan.

Overall the camp was successful where we were able to help out the needy.

Flood Relief Camp Report at Vijayawada: On 14th October 2009, Wednesday we started from Hyderabad a team of 1 HOPE staff Rajesh and 3 volunteer from ICC to visit Vijayawada.

The flood relief camp, which we conducted on 15th October 2009, Thursday was really encouraging. From ICC Vishakapatanam two more volunteers joined the team and next morning four more joined the team from Vijayawada. Initially, we visited Krishna lanka for survey to meet families to find out their needs by spending some time and prayed for them. Then we decided that it will be good to distribute to them rice, pulses, oil and clothes, as these are the things, which were very much required for them.

We really appreciate HOPE staff and 9 volunteers who gave their best to make this camp successful. We met the people and found out their need. Really they were in the pain where they lost every thing due to floods. We met 30 families where they are living in the destitute place and most of them are rack pickers. After the survey we went to the market and brought the stuff to distribute them. We know that we couldn't meet all their needs but we felt really happy at least we could make them feel somebody was there for them to help in this time of disaster. Overall we had a great and satisfactory camp.

We could able to reach out 50+ families by distributing 10kgs rice, 1kg dal & 1kg oil packet. They were very happy for the help we gave by proving the basic needs.

Flood Relief Camp Report at Alampur, Mahaboobnagar: On 17th October 2009, Saturday we started from Hyderabad teams of 3 HOPE staff Rajesh, kala & swarna and 5 volunteer from ICC to visit Alampur, Mahaboobnagar.

Initially we visited alampur for survey by meeting families to find out their needs by spending some time and helped them out with the basic requirements. They lost every thing in the house and streets are filled with mud and they don’t have electricity from past two weeks in this village. They are coming in the morning to clean their houses and in the evening they are staying at rehabilitation center.

On the 20th October, Tuesday we 3 HOPE staff and 7 volunteers from ICC went to alampur village to distribute the stuff to needy. We took help from the local police to control the public. We could able to reach out 100+ families by distributing 5kgs rice, 1kg dal, 1 kerosene stove, bath & detergent soap, phenol & 1kg oil packet. They were very happy for the help we gave by proving the basic needs.

Writeup for Chennai Church 20th Anniversary

The Hyderabad church is truly grateful for the sacrifice of the mission team members who had come from Chennai to start the Church here in 1994. 13 disciples from Chennai and 3 disciples from Bangalore had joined together to plant the church here.

Emmanuel and Arun'a Baptisms

Aug 23 '09 we welcomed Emmanuel and Aruna into our family in Christ. We are excited to bear witness as they grow in their relationships with God. Congratulations to you both and God Bless.

Emmanuel getting baptized!!

Destined To Be Saved : Emmanuel's Conversion Story
Emmanuel's conversion story begins way back in 2003. He did all the bible studies but left without getting baptized in the church. But God's plans are amazing, HE used Johney(me) to bring him back to church. He became my friend when I was working in US. As soon as I came back to India this Feb'09, I invited him to church. At church, he found the fellowship very encouraging this time. He began to study the Bible all over again. He began to realize his past mistakes, his uncertain walk of life, he became broken-hearted. in front of the Cross He fought against his weaknesses, family opposition (as he comes from a different denomination all these years which did not help him much) and took the ultimate decision to accept Jesus as HIS savior. Understanding HIS grace, sacrifice and love, Emmanuel got baptized finally on August 23rd '09. He was overwhelmingly joyful that day.

Aruna being congratulated on her baptism

Aruna was a colleague of Uday (who was helping manage a college in Rajahmundry) and came to Hyderabad to prepare for her CAT exam (to get into IIMs God willing) but God had another agenda for her as she was here and helped her to study the Bible and change her life and get baptized. Coming from a very religious background, she had to unlearn some of her thinking ways in order to be a true disciple of Jesus. But those who seek him do find him and God did not leave her hand through this whole process. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!

The staff of Karnataka and Hyderabad had a great retreat - a time to search our hearts, learn new messages, play games at the beach and have loads of fellowship not forgetting prayer with prayer partners.

South Indian Singles Retreat, Bangalore

The first ever singles conference held in India at bangalore on 14th,15th & 16th of August was a great success. It was a fellowship of 500+ disciples for 3days & 2nights. Through these pictures, I hope to encourage disciples to keep their zealousness... and enthusiasm continuing in christ. & to keep the memories alive.

3 Days - 2 Nights - 500+ disciples - 4 Different language speaking disciples fellowshipping together - how does that sound !
